So Happy!!!! They fixed what the previous salon messed up and did a wonderful job. Relaxing unhurried felt like I was valued and appreciated. Loved it so much I already made my next appointment. There is simply no better place to get a pedi in EC. Feet/nails are soaked, filed, trimmed, softened and wrapped in a warm moist towel.

I came to this salon because of all the 5-star reviews. Before the man began the pedicure, he went outside for a cigarette. He didn’t change gloves or anything. During the pedicure, he went out for another cigarette wearing latex gloves. When I asked him to wash his hands and change his gloves, he replied “Why? Are you allergic to cigarettes?” I said no it’s just not sanitary and I don’t smoke! Also, during the pedicure, he would stop what he was doing and watch the TV multiple times. I wanted to get my nail service and get out of there. I didn’t say anything about the TV distraction because of how he responded to my comment about the cigarettes. Anyway, I would never go back to this place. Not sure why everyone loves it??

FAQs

What percentage do you tip a nail lady? ›

Much like at restaurants and hair salons, the industry standard for tipping at the nail salon ranges around 15 to 20 percent, and it is generally recommended that if you've received extra services or specialty designs, a minimum of 20 percent is appreciated.

Should you tip in cash at nail salon? ›

Lastly, while most upscale salons accept tips on cards, it's still more appreciated if you can give cash. It lets your technician receive their gratuity immediately and in full. In the end, tipping at high-end nail salons is about showing appreciation for a job well done.

What are the strongest salon nails? ›

For the longest-lasting manicure, choose a gel or acrylic style. Gel nail polish is less likely to chip, and acrylic is even stronger than gel.

Are salon manicures worth it? ›

Is $5 ok for a tip on a pedicure? ›

While $5 may be a tip, it is on the lower side for a pedicure service. Opting for a slightly higher tip, around 15%, would better reflect appreciation for the detailed work involved in a pedicure.

How much do you tip for a $40 pedicure? ›

20% is the standard, and unless there is an extenuating circ*mstance, you shoulnd't tip less than that. If you're just getting a basic polish, it's still nice (and frankly, expected) to tip. "Tipping around 20% or more is still a good practice to show appreciation for the service," even if it seems basic, Correa says.

Why do nail techs want cash? ›

Taking cash only doesn't necessarily mean a salon is dodgy – sometimes small businesses just want to avoid the bank charges from accepting cards. But it can be a red flag for tax evasion, and if a salon is evading taxes, it's probably not paying its staff properly.

How often should you get a pedicure? ›

You can get a pedicure once every three to four weeks if you're considering the whole package: massage, scrub, cuticle removal, and all the work. But if it is just simple toenail cleaning, shaping, and painting, it's safe to do it every one to two weeks.

What is the most attractive nail? ›

The theory has been backed up by research, which shows that men find women with red nails more attractive than those with any other color nails. The implications of Red Nails Theory are far-reaching.

Why are nails so expensive now? ›

Is $10 a good tip for nail tech? ›

The amount you tip at the nail salon is ultimately up to you. However, the industry standard is 10% to 20%, experts say. For a $45 pedicure, that works out to a $4.50 to $9 tip. You can use a tip calculator to easily find an appropriate tip for your bill.

What is a good tip for $35 nails? ›

What customers do: A 20% tip is standard, so that would be $7 on a $35 pedicure. What salon staff wants you to do: If service was satisfactory, give at least 20%. "As a rule, our generous clientele tips 20% on all services 95% of the time," Karen Kops, owner of Nashville-based Poppy & Monroe told TODAY.

How much to tip on a $55 pedicure? ›

Tipping for manicures and massages are the same as when you are in a restaurant. Tips range from an average of between 15 and 20%, and that's the same as most services where tipping is customary. You can always give more, if the service goes above and beyond, but I would say your tips are on the high side.
